Hot Air and a Pot

So today, on our way home from picking up My Beloved from work, we noticed a hot air balloon warming up for take off. I was so excited, so we pulled into the driveway (and not the garage like we usually do) put the kids in the double stroller and ran off to see the grand event! I was looking forward to hearing up close the wicker basket creaking under the pull of the balloon, and hearing the roar of the flames. But to our dismay, as soon as we got close, it took off. Oh well, at least we got this close so I could get a shot of it flying by!

Also, I was experimenting for my Tortellini project, how to make a pot look interesting. I enjoyed playing with the flash to get this to work. I used a can cooler thing (you know, the foam things you put around a can of pop) and a church bulletin as a barn door. I know the members of my church are going to love to hear that I found another use for the bulletins!!
